I was involved in theater all through high school and was a theater major in college until I decided that I was probably not going to be able to make a living at it. I promised myself that I would get back to doing theater at the community level when I was settled in my career and had more time. More than a decade later I had not returned to the theater and it really wasn’t on my horizon. Then I was approached about being on the board of the Davis Performing Arts Association a new board that was being formed in anticipation of the theater that was going to be built. I was thrilled to have an opportunity to come back. Little did I know how much a part of our lives CPT would become. One of my daughters joined the Academy and it truly became her safe haven. She flourished and found her “tribe”. I was asked to play a small part in one of the Academy shows and it was great to be acting again. She and I later did a CenterPoint play a few later and it was a wonderful time for us to grow closer and share that bond. I have seen so many other examples of lives that have been touched by this theater. I can’t even express how grateful we are that have CPT here in our backyard.
I was born and raised in Ft.Worth, TX. However, my parents bought a condo in Pheasantbrook, here in Centerville, when the community was first built. They rented it to my grandparents who lived there until they passed away. I spent almost every summer here in Centerville, swimming in the Pheasantbrook pool, getting shakes at the Arctic Circle that is now the Little Caesar’s and going to Lagoon. My parents moved into the condo in 1993 while they took care of my grandfather. We bought the condo and moved into it in 2001, we lived there for 12 years until we moved into the neighborhood to the north of Pheasantbrook. Centerville and this neighborhood has been a part of my life almost as long as I can remember.
Nicole and I have 4 children. We seem to be going in a thousand different directions at all times, but when I get the chance, I enjoy getting outdoors and overlanding in my Jeep.
