Dear Patrons,
This year of COVID-19 has truly created challenges for us all. We have been pleased with the effectiveness of our Covid-19 procedures to keep our community safe and still created opportunities to participate and enjoy the arts. Our summer Concerts in the Parking Lot, the Broadway Villains Concert and Academy performances of The Addams Family have all gone well and with no incidents of Covid-19.
Unfortunately, we had one of our cast members from The Secret Garden test positive early in the rehearsal process. Our safety protocols managed the situation very well. Rehearsals were cancelled until we confirmed that no other cast members tested positive and the one who did was clear of the virus. We are pleased that our safety protocols like mask wearing, distancing and regular disinfection hand-hygiene are keeping people safe. Rehearsals began again. We are sad to announce that another cast member has tested positive for the virus. We are confident that these incidents are coming from outside CenterPoint and the safety protocols are working. However, these protocols, like canceling rehearsals until it is deemed safe, affect our ability to prepare this production to the quality level we strive to present to our community.
Given events scheduled for the Christmas season, we have decided to postpone our production of The Secret Garden until a later time. Our box office will be contacting those who have already purchased tickets. And more information about rescheduling will come as we secure that information.
Thank you for your patience.
Stay Safe and Healthy.
Jansen Davis, Executive Director
